Enam Medical College was established in 2003, complying with all the guidelines and criteria established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Medical and Dental Council of Bangladesh and the University of Dhaka.
Enam Medical College is one of the best medical colleges in Bangladesh, including the governmental and private sectors. It is located in Savar, which is very close to the city of Dhaka. It has magnificent university buildings and well-constructed hospitals on its own land of approximately 4 acres. The university started with 50 students from the 2003-2004 academic session. Now the admission is 150 per year. The 1,000-bed hospital has outdoor and indoor facilities. The hospital is always busy with patients. The academic faculty is very enriched with renowned professors.
Very good hostel facilities for local and foreign students are available. In the university library, all recommended textbooks, reference books and journals (local and international) are available. Internet facilities, including HINARI’s online international link, which can provide updated information to students and teachers, are also available.
The university is affiliated with the University of Dhaka and is also recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). The training at Enam Medical College Hospital is also recognized by the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS).
This school and the hospital have been designed to provide general education and professional development to medical students. The academic faculty has highly qualified teachers and the attached hospital is the most modern and standard, well equipped with all modern facilities. All this will help students acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes to deal with the health problems of the community and make their basic knowledge very solid for future training and higher education.
