Mymensingh Medical College is a postgraduate government medical college which conducting MBBS, BDS and postgraduate courses in more than 25 categories under DU(Dhaka University) and BSMMU (Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University). In this medical college every year 197 students have admitted in MBBS course 52 in BDS courses 10% of them are foreign students from different countries like india,Nepal,vhutan,srilanka and may more. Besides this total of 138 students are admitted in different postgraduate courses in this medical college.
Mymensingh medical was started in 1924 in Baghmara. That time it was named as “Lytton Medical School”, according to the name of the Governor of Bengal. In 1962 Mymensingh Medical College was named, then it started conducting MBBS course with 32 students.
In 1972 the campus shifted to Charpara. A four-storied College building was built total of18,000 sq.m.There are 1000 beds in total with more than 30 Paraclinical departments.
