Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET) is a non-profit public higher education institution situated in the medium-sized city of Gazipur, Dhaka. Officially accredited and recognized by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, DUET is a small education institution in Bangladesh.
DUET offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees like certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees, bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
History of Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET)
DUET started its journey in 1980 as the College of Engineering at its impermanent campus at Tejgaon, Dhaka under the University of Dhaka. After a short time, the College of Engineering was renamed as Dhaka Engineering College (DEC). Then DEC was shifted to its present and permanent campus Gazipur City in 1983.
In 1986, DEC was converted to the Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Dhaka as a degree-awarding Institute by the government ordinance. From September 2003, Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT) was reformed as Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET).

DUET Admission Circular 2019
Duet admission circular for honors 1st year, session 2019-2020 has not published yet. All eligible candidates can apply for admission, and they have to sit for an admission test. Those who will pass the admission test successfully can be able to admit to Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology. There are eight admission units in Duet.

Eligibility of DUET Admission
- The student should pass SSC and HSC from any education Board
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 or Marks is 50%
- For Technical Education Board Students have to get 60% Marks or 3.00 out of 4.00
- Passing year at least 2016 or later
