East West University is the first private university to have been accredited and/or recognized by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC). East West University was officially launched in 1996. The first classes were taken in September 1996 at the university.

The university initially kicked off with 6 faculty members, and 20 students. Now it grew up to be one of the prestigious universities in the country with 216 faculty members and approximately 8914 students.

With almost 9,000 students, East West University is recognized as a mid-size co-educational higher education institution. East West University now offers both Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in several fields of study for higher education.

The university also offers pre-bachelor degrees, focusing on diplomas, certificate programs, and associate or foundation degrees.

East West University: Admission Info

Admission Eligibility

• A candidate willing to pursue bachelor’s and graduate study at East West University must have a minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC examinations
• For an English medium candidate, he/she has to have passed the University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ level in at least 5 subjects. He/she has to have passed ‘A’ level in at least 2 subjects. The university admission committee will consider the best five subjects in ‘O’ level and best two subjects ‘A’ level.
• Out of these 7 subjects, a candidate must claim at 4 B or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects. The candidate should have at least 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the rest of the three subjects –

• A candidate willing to study at East West University must pass the East West University Admission Test Score
• The 100% Admission Test Score will be distributed as follows: 75% from Admission Test Result, 10% from SSC/O-Level, and 15% from HSC/A-Level
